Every week in kindergarten has its own theme and purpose. Themes are selected according to the age of the children, calendar-themed holidays and our values. This form of work is quite interesting and informative.
During the week, students study a certain topic. In addition, children learn the rules, traditions, customs and history of our country. Also, children make different handmade products according to the theme of the week.
Our native language is a connection of generations. The customs and traditions of Ukrainians are a memory of who we are.
We cherish and nurture children’s respect for our culture. Children sing carols, participate in Malanka, learn Easter hayivky, organize and have fun on Saint Andrew’s Day and prepare 12 dishes for the Holy Evening. Children also know what Independence Day and the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks are. Children proudly wear Ukrainian embroidered shirts, sing folk songs and dance hopak.
We teach children to love and respect Ukrainian customs and traditions so that they inherit all the wisdom of past generations, which is embedded in our history.
Another good tradition is tea ceremonies. During this activity, children get acquainted with the history of tea and the peculiarities of its preparation in different countries around the world. As well as, children participate in workshops on brewing tea and gather together to taste it. Tea ceremonies are held in the spirit of the traditions of England, China or Japan. National clothes, decor elements, and decorations in the group make the tea ceremony unforgettable and interesting for children.
